Olympus Tea

The Greek mountain tea (Sideritis scardica),native in rocky soils of subalpine Olympus zone Kisavos, Pelion Skardou. It is known since antiquity and is mentioned by Theophrastus (372-287 BC) and Dioscorides (10 AD century). Its scientific name Sideritis comes from the word iron and according to one version it was given to the plant, because of its ability to heal wounds caused by iron objects. According to another, because it is a natural source of iron, since the drinks made from it contain a lot of iron.

The mountain tea has digestive, warming, toning and detoxifying properties. Thus it can be used against colds, diseases of the respiratory system and urinary system. Its healing properties also help in the fight against diseases of the capillaries and the heart, thanks to the flavonoids it contains. Finally, the decoction with lemon and honey is antiseptic and softens the throat.

According to scientific studies, Olympus tea sideritis scardica is the enemy of Alzheimer's disease.

Pour a cup of boiling water on a teaspoon and leave it depending on the type of tea. If it is green 2-3 minutes, if it is Oolong 4 minutes and if it is black 5 minutes.
